    Can't drag widgets from the widget library onto canvas

    Hi, I often can't drag widgets from the widget library onto the canvas. The cursor changes to the dragging hand and then immediately back to the arrow. When I try to drag something onto the canvas, nothing happens. That means that I can't create anything. The only temporary solution is restarting the computer! Restarting Axure doesn't help.

    Axure 7.0.0.3174 (latest)
    Mac OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite

    Hi wibby,

    Are you still running into this problem? There has been a reported Yosemite issue regarding drag and drop. But I can't say yet if what you are seeing is related to that or not. Sometimes a simple restart seems to fix this up. Here's an Apple discussions thread about the problem:

    Take a look through that to see if these symptoms match up or if the proposed fixes work. If nothing there fixes the problem, I think the best way forward would be to write in to:

    support at axure dot com

    Hi there,

    Same problems as Wibby. I also can't drag objects already placed on the canvas using the mouse. I can resize them or move them with the keyboard, but not mouse or trackpad.

    Running 10.10.1 & 7.0.0.3174.

    Just tried the fix linked to on the Apple Support site, no luck. For giggles, I'm going to try deleting the plist for axure to see if that does anything, but since I've tried a full uninstall/install of axure & associated files already, don't have too much hope. Will report back.

    Hello,

    That is unfortunate. A simple restart does nothing? Okay, the next time this happens could you do the following:

    1. Immediately open Console, open the "All Messages" filter, then click "Save a Copy As..." and send us that file.

    2. Check in Axure User Data/Axure-7-Pro/logs for any files. If there are any logs in there, send them to us.

    You can attach them here or you can send them in to:

    support at axure dot com

    If you choose the email route, please reference this thread with a link; it'll help us better track your case!

    @binarypickle, I experience the same dragging and resizing issues for items on the canvas as well, I neglected to mention them.
    @Tuomas Axure, Thanks, I will supply you with the logs when I run into the issue again (which should be real soon)

    Ok, bit of a rabbit-hole here, but stick with me.

    Caught the error when it happened a little bit ago, and checked in Console to see what was being displayed.

    I had this, repeated over and over again:

    12/15/14 1:59:30.678 PM Axure RP Pro 7.0[754] CoreDragCreate error: -4960
    12/15/14 1:59:30.678 PM Axure RP Pro 7.0[754] error in CoreDragDispose: -1850
    12/15/14 1:59:30.692 PM Axure RP Pro 7.0[754] Can't allocate a new block for a pasteboard. Creation of a new Pasteboard will fail.


    But, because I'm curious like that, I was looking thru the rest of the log, and saw that Chrome had been throwing this about every second since I started it up (long before the axure error):

    12/15/14 1:57:41.411 PM Google Chrome[726] Can't allocate a new block for a pasteboard. Creation of a new Pasteboard will fail.

    Odd that it would be the same error. A quick search reveals https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6714094, which points to the Pushbullet extension as the culprit. Specifically, the universal copy & paste functionality. Disabling the function fixed the never ending Chrome pasteboard errors for the folks over there, and since Axure was throwing the same error, I'm going to try their fix and see what happens.

    Will report back.

    Well, not conclusive, but I didn't run into the issue for the rest of the day, so here's hoping it's gone. Considering I was hitting it 10+ times a day before, it is certainly a good sign.

    @Wibby, don't know if you're a fellow Chrome/Pushbullet user, but if so, I'd suggest turning off the copy/paste feature & seeing if that helps.

    @binarypickle, how funny, the user hannes.cm in that thread on discussions.apple.com is me (: I was having the same issues. I will try to deactivate Pushbullet as well (I had kept it on because I chose to ignore the errors it was spamming the console with). Funny how a Chrome extension should influence Axure, I thought they were running in some kind of sandbox.

    Glad to see I wasn't the only one with this issue! I ended up reinstalling Mavericks a few days ago but haven't been in Axure much since. Hopefully that resolves it, but if not I now know it's Pushbullet to blame. Has anyone filed a bug with them?

    @apbitner yes I have. I'll direct them at this thread again to make them aware that Pushbullet can bring down Axure.

    I am having the same problem. But I don't have pushbullet installed so that is not the culprit. @apbitner did reinstalling Mavericks help?

    @mpullis - This problem never occurred for me before I upgraded to Yosemite a few weeks ago. I got Mavericks re-installed last week and have only used Axure a little since then but so far, so good.

    Unhappy Move / Drag and drop stops working (OSX Yosemite 10.10.1)

    Hi,

    Ive noticed a weird bug, possibly since the recent Mac automatic security update. I didn't have this problem until very recently.

    After using Axure for an hour or two, drag and drop stops working in the app. I cant move objects or drag a widget onto the screen. Other features still work. this isn't a mouse or keyboard issue as other programs operate fine. Restarting Axure doesn't fix the problem. The only way to fix it is to restart the computer, which rectifies the issue, then after a few hours it happens again. Very annoying!!

    Any fix? Anyone else got this problem?

    iMac, Late 2013, 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i5, 16gb RAM
    OSX Yosemite 10.10.1
    Axure RP Pro 7.0.0.3174

    In case it helps anyone else - I found a 'fix' after reading other peoples posts on the topic - I disabled the 'Pushbullet' Chrome plugin that I'd recently installed, restarted and I haven't had the problem since.

    I'm having the same problem, but no 'pushbullet'. Restart does the trick, but would appreciate a more permanent solution. Any other suggestions?

    So far this Pushbullet extension has been the main culprit behind these symptoms. Have you taken a look at this thread (also linked above)?

    There are a few non-pushbullet suggestions in there. But if you continue to experience these problems, the best way forward is to do what I say in this post (above):

    Can't drag widgets from the widget library onto canvas

    Send those logs in to support at axure dot com and reference this post.

    When you email in, please be as detailed as possible regarding your system, how to reproduce the problem, measures you've already taken, and anything else that you think could be useful.

    Hi!
    I´ve recently had the same problem.
    I installed "Clipbr beta" extension on chrome (similar to pushbullet).

    Uninstalling the chrome extension has solved the problem.
