Swiping from page to page on an iPad

Hi,

I started learning Axure on Thursday and have hit a brick wall. Not sure if it's because I'm a total newbie or if what I'm trying to do is actually impossible.

I am designing an iPad app and need to create a prototype for the app that I can show on an iPad.

I have one section where the user can swipe the full page from left to right (to go backwards and forwards through pages) and also upwards (to reveal further information). I am using full screen images so that the app looks as professional as possible.

All I really need to do is link from one page to another but there don't seem to be any animations on page linking so the interaction doesn't look very 'iPad like'. The onDrag command works but I can only add one of them to a dynamic panel so I can't enable the user to swipe forwards and backwards on one image.

Help! Not sure if any of the above makes sense. Please let me know if any clarifications are needed.

99.9% sure swipe/gestures on mobile devices aren't supported out of the box. In fact - make that 100%.

Axstream - Axure's approved UK training partner run a training course on mobile prototyping which includes a 'Mobile Axure Simulator'.

I suspect this may be iPhone only and I haven't done the course so can't testify to it's benefits. Maybe check it out for yourself.

It is Axure approved though; and I've been trained by Ritch Macefield - he's pretty good.

There is a swipe left/right feature in 6.5. While I haven't built a swipe from page to page, I have been successful in swiping dynamic panels. Hints:
1. Place the "to be swipped" panels inside a "sensor" panel.
2. Put the onswipe event at the sensor level, not on the "to be swipped" panel.


Something like this:
