    iPad Flick/Swipe

This prototype is a work in progress - it simulates left/right swiping on an ipad. Flicking causes a full slide, a small swipe will make the contents return to the original position, and a slide more than 1/2 way will cause the contents to slide the rest of the way.

This example uses TotalDragX and DragTime variables.

NOTE: OnSwipeLeft and OnSwipeRight are now available (see below post) but this example can be used as a reference if your main goal is a realistic "swiping" experience where the content follows your drag.

I've created an example to look at. This is super easy now with OnSwipeLeft and OnSwipeRight and Next/Previous panel states.

Nice work Paul. I like the logic too - very efficient.

Hi Mikaela009 - These actions are specific to 6.5 Beta, but you can download another similar iPad sample from this thread http://www.axure.com/forum/ask-newbi...type-ipad.html Let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for the links to the prototype! Feel free to have a look at the example I created from it. My goal was to demo the the new "OnSwipe" dynamic panel events in combination with the new "Next/Previous state" Dynamic Panel state choosing options in order to create the ultimate of simplicity for handling swiping events in mobile devices. However, the OnSwipe commands don't move the page until you let go, which I don't like. So, to achieve both prototype simplicity and a great user experience, I added an outer container and added OnDrag to the mix. The results aren't perfect, but I'd say they're not bad:

    Desktop or Mobile prototype view.

Hi Paul, this is a great solution. I have a problem however with buttons that live on the different Container states not working. I think this is because they are "covered up" by the Container swipe functionality. Do you know if there is a workaround for this?
    Thanks!

Hi Thom, maybe this thread can help you with a solution for this? (Answered) Dynamic Panel with Drag doesn't allow for Droplist and selection of Widgets inside.

Otherwise, can you send an email with the rp file to support at axure dot com?

Thanks Paul, I'll see if that will work.

    UPDATE:
Your example helped me solve the issue. By attaching the "OnSwipeLeft—Set Container state to Next Slide left" events to panels within the different Container states as opposed to the Container itself. Thanks so much!

That's a very nice example and I copied it. Thanks.

But when it swipe completely over the left or right, I just end up with a blank screen.

How can I create either a loop or prevent to go over a blank screen as the example displayed?

    Thanks
