Question Only one of the Adaptive Views seems to go to printed

    Hi guys,

In my workflow, I am using the 'Print All Pages' function regularly*.
Now using Adaptive Views (testing with Axure's example file) I found:
    (a) only one view goes to the print (file);
    (b) and it looks quite coincidentally which page goes to the print - as I tested with Axure's example file, I found the current (-ly visual) file in the print, and that makes me even more curious what will happen when I have more pages to print.
I had a quick look in the "Generate Specification.."-route and it looked (first glance) if this issue also exists here.

    My questions now:
    (1) Do I oversee something?
    (2) If not, are you (Axure) aware of this issue?
    (3) And if so, can we expect a solution soon?

    Please let me know.

    cheers,

    Igor

    * I don't produce my specs documentation not via the "Generate Specification.."-route but via 'Print All Pages', where I create a PDF document. Annotations are made on every Axure page - which I can easily hide on screen when I demo.

Same issue here. It seems like that part hasn't been put into the Beta yet.

Hello... yes we are aware of the issue. Exported images and specs for adaptive have not yet been implemented.

    Hey Paul,

It would be interesting to see how Axure will approach this. I am picturing a spec with chapters, where each chapter covers the pages/screens per unique view with tie-ins to common modules/masters listed at the end in an appendix.

Can't wait to see Axure's solution!

We are working hard on Printing and should have a good solution in the next major release.

    Hi Aronoff,

Though the Print feature didn't see this improvement in 7.0, we are working to improve it for the next major release. Thanks for bumping this thread, though--I'll be sure to update the ticket with our product team. If you'd like, feel free to share any specifics on the sort of new feature you're looking for and how that'd address your workflow in the best way. That'd be a great help as well--thanks!

    Hi Alex,

I saw this thread (dating back to 2013!) as I run into the same issue, which is very time consuming.
Any update? Also a roadmap for the next major release you are talking about? Running 7.0.0.3190 (latest version according to the updater)

    Thanks
    Floris

    Hi Floris,

I have some good news and bad news. The good news is that Axure RP 8 is out now! It is a free upgrade for everyone and has many, many improvements.

Check it out here: New in Axure RP 8 | Axure Software.
Download it here: Update To Latest Version | Axure

The bad news is during or long cycle for 8 the improvements to print changed slightly. Printing has seen many improvements across the board in 8, Axure Blog - Learn Axure RP 8 Beta: Print Guides and Configurations. However, a single click option to print all Adaptive Views still isn't there. I'll see if there is a way we can still evaluate this for 8, but definitely can't make any promises here.

However, there is a new Snapshot Widget that could very likely help out many workflows here. Snapshot Widgets. You could create an output page with a multiple Snapshot Widgets referencing the same page and use Applied Actions to set each reference to a different Adaptive View. Hopefully, you can even create a better layout and nicer looking output using this method. Check it out and let me know if you have any thoughts!
